Jaclene

What is your favorite service to perform?
Balayage is hands down my favorite service. It's the most artistic and the most fun to do because I get to paint my client's hair and blend the colors together to make it look just right.

What is your inspiration for doing hair?
I am a cancer survivor, so my inspiration came from my hairdresser. She made me look beautiful when I got my hair back, and made me realize that I wanted to do the same for other people and make others feel good about themselves too.

Originally from Boston, I have been at Detour since October of 2015. I have been in the salon and spa industry for over 8 years and have been fortunate enough to bring this experience to Detour Salon. Matt

What are your favorite services to perform?
Being dual licensed in both cosmetology and barbering gives me the opportunity to work with many services! From men’s cuts and fades to face shaves, balayage, highlights, and women’s cuts, both short and long, I have a passion for it all.

What is your inspiration for doing hair?
As a young kid, I was mesmerized by the ugly duckling make over T.V. shows where they would transform a person’s look through hair services and fashion. I always thought how amazing they were, so after I became bored of my 1st career, I took the opportunity to re-invent myself. I went back to school to become a hairstylist where I can share my passion for hair with my clients.

Whitney

Kelsey

Hair Stylist.Encinitas

What are your favorite services to perform?
I love working with all types of blondes, including balayage and traditional highlight clients. I enjoy the differences you can create with each blonde, from super platinum to subtle and natural blondes.

I have attended Redken Blonding and Balayage classes.

What is your inspiration for doing hair?
I think that doing hair is very creative and I like giving a different look to each person according to their personality and lifestyle.

Joshua

Hair Stylist, Encinitas
At Detour since 2015, my favorite service to perform would have to be blow dry styles. I feel tat a blow dry can make or break any service that you perform. It can make a not-so-great cut look fantastic. As well, a great cut can look mediocre with a not-so-good bow dry.

My inspiration for doing hair is the joy of meeting new people and the freedom to be creative. Throughout history, hair has been a key of expression; it's been a statement of class and royalty. The art of hair has been around long before the elegant hair of queen Cleopatra and will remain around long after any Jennifer Anniston trend!

Cayla

Hair Stylist.Encinitas

I have been with Detour since 2014.

The owners, Kirk and Jarrod, actually directed me into this business, suggesting I look in to fashion management and marketing.
